Eileen Jones

The interviewee discusses how television 'normalises' people's behaviour and also enables us to feel we are part of world-wide events. He remembers seeing television programmes on the Coronation and Investiture and feels that the Monarchy makes an important contribution. Whilst discussing Aberfan he talks of visitors from abroad knowing about the existence of the village because of television and he discusses the huge response to the appeal to raise money, and the problems which arose because of that money. He also remembers watching Wales play Rugby in the 70s and the pleasure the programmes gave to people that could not go to watch the matches.
