The interviewee's earliest memory is watching the Cup Final in the early 50s. He says that very few people had a television and everyone from the area was invited. He was teaching during the Investiture and the headmaster was keen for everyone to to gather in the hall to watch it. He watched Rugby at home, watching television in pubs wasn't something people did as much then. Remembers seeing Arthur Scargill give a speech in Wrexham, but thinks there may have been more on Welsh television that he didn't see.
