Description

Sergeant William Thomas John from Llanelli of the Welsh Regiment was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for his bravery on 20 October 1918 during the Battle of the Selle. He was due to be presented with the medal by the King on 6 November 1918, but unfortunately died from his wounds two days earlier. He is buried at Forest Communal Cemetery in Northern France.
