Letter from Thomas E. Hughes to Richard D. Jones [Corporal John Griffith Jones' brother?], from a camp at Vicksburg, 6 August 1863 [page 1 of 3]

Description

Thomas says that Robat Parry has died after a long illness and he says that he hears daily of someone dying.

He mentions the prices of different items such as tobacco, butter and eggs. He doesn't know the prices of alcoholic drinks, as there are none available. He says that he heard that Richard had married a very pretty girl. He asks Richard to write again soon with local news. He says that John [Griffith Jones] is fairly healthy.
