Letter from Corporal John Griffith Jones, from a camp near New Orleans, to his family in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, 15 September 1863 [page 1 of 3]
Description
John feels much better and is ready to serve once again. His parents have sent him some pictures and he says that it was a pleasure to receive them. It's been mentioned that they're moving to the Brasier City, Texas and the corps have all moved except for his company.
He says that they're having a good living and lists the food that they've been eating. He has heard that Rees Cook has been killed on his way home after his release.
