Description

Papers relating to the application for exemption at a military tribunal by David Thomas Jones of Llantarnam, Cwmbran.

It is noted in the papers that David Jones, 38 at the time was married and had 2 children, girl of 7 and boy of 4. It describes how he had been employed by Mr. Tuckfield for eleven and a half years and is trained as a butcher and slaughterman.

The papers included medical certificate, typed applications, R66 forms (notice of hearing), R43 (notice of appeal), R27 (notice of decision), letters, handwritten notes, R50 (certificate of exemption) and R53 (application as to exemption).

He was granted temporary exemption under the condition he remained in is occupation as a butcher.
