About

It is often thought that migrants from Italy came originally from Bardi in the north and we sometimes overlook those who came from other areas of Italy, including the province of Picinisco in the south. This account is dedicated to capturing and sharing the family stories of those who came to Wales from different regions of Italy, with special thanks to contributions from Anita Arcari and Paulette Pelosi about how their families came to live in the Swansea area. From stories about opening the Italian ice–cream parlours and cafes to the Second World War Arandora Star tragedy.
