Cymdeithas Hanes Penmaenmawr Historical Society

Penmaenmawr Historical Society was formed in 1973, to promote the study of local history in the Parish of Dwygyfylchi. It holds lectures and organises visits to places of interest and has published booklets and exhibitions for the general public. Membership is open to all persons showing interest in the Society’s objectives.

Members are currently engaged in a Community Archive Project, which collects photographs and documents relating to Penmaenmawr, putting them on to CD and eventually the web (COMMANET—community archive network). Since 2003 the Society, in partnership with Conwy Borough CC has manned on a voluntary basis the New York Cottages Museum on Bangor Road, which is open to the public on Wednesday–Friday, 2–4pm from June to September.
