The crew of the Lycia, numbering about 30, were landed yesterday, and proceeded to a Sailors' Home. Their story is that without a moment's warning, a German submarine opened fire on them. Immediately they rushed to the boats, the Germans continuing to fire on them recklessly. One of the crew received serious injuries, and is now in hospital, and another was hit by shell fire in the head.
