Father Edward Duffield who keeps the New

Bridge end Inn at Risca, (the house is his own)

On Sunday night before the Riots - a

great number of of people came to my fathers house

Some had guns some pikes cleavers & spears -

I heard some of them ask for fire arms - some

drank liquors & paid for ^ what they had - I saw Isaac

Phillips or Williams in his house amongst the

rest. I saw nothing in his hand I was standing

by the bar door at the time - He passed & asked

where my two Brothers John & George/#/ were -

I said they were gone . I then went into the

bar _____________________
