About

The West Wales Veterans' Archive (WWVA) is managed by Age Cymru Dyfed and is being supported by a grant award from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (2020-2022). This pioneering armed forces veterans archive for the West Wales region is designed to be authoritative, publicly accessible and sustainable. It will become a valuable learning resource for historians, researchers, schools and colleges and for family historians. The Archive is located on the People's Collection within the National Library of Wales and holds accounts provided by military veterans aged 65yrs+ living in Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The development of the Archive is being overseen by a Project Board consisting of academia (History and Law); veterans and mental health charities, archive bodies, and veterans themselves.

If you are a veteran of the Armed Forces, aged 65yrs plus, living in West Wales, and would like to contribute your own account of military service to the Archive, please contact [email protected] or telephone 01970 615151 for an exploratory chat. The health and well-being of all our veterans is placed at the forefront of every conversation.
