A BAD YEAR FOR LLANGWM AS 7 DIE
William Henry Hitchings died in Arras, France on April 23rd serving in the East Yorkshire Regiment aged 21.
Edwin Arthur John died in the Aloof trench, France on 25th August serving in the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
James John, his brother, died on the same day.
David Harris George, Trooper, Cavalry of Great Nash
Farm died on September 8th, aged 23.
Arthur Williams Lance Corporal, South Wales Borderers. He died on October 6th at the Casualty Clearing Station at Dozinghem.
John Hutchings Private, Welsh Regiment. John was killed at the Battle of Cambrai on November 24th.
James Charles Thomas Private, Machine Gun Corps. James was wounded and taken prisoner at Cambrai. He died of his wounds on December 4th aged 26 years old.
Battle of Cambrai – Cambrai was a key supply point for the German army.
