Data Protection

We have a legal duty to protect any personal information we collect and use leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard your data. The rest of this statement is dedicated to making it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

Peoples Collection Wales (PCW) is a partnership between The National Library of Wales, National Museum Wales and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales.

PCW will not use your data for any purpose other than for the management and maintenance of the website/archives and to communicate with you. Whilst we do use third parties to help us deliver the service, they cannot use your data for any other purpose.

Your rights

Your privacy is important to us and as an individual you have a number of rights. You can:

  • access and obtain a copy of your data on request;
  • ask us to change incorrect or incomplete data;
  • ask us to delete or stop processing your data where we are relying on either your consent or our own legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.

We take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures.
