Crafts of Dyffryn Conwy

Dyffryn Conwy has a long craft tradition. The valley’s natural resources is abundant in raw materials – wood for making harps and coracles, wool for weaving, metal forged by the blacksmith and stone carved into tools.
Significantly, it was here in Dyffryn Conwy in 1951 that the National Eisteddfod held its first art and craft exhibition in a purpose-built pavilion.
This is an opportunity to celebrate the work of Dyffryn Conwy’s craftspeople in Amgueddfa Cymru’s collections.
