Sian and Steve

Sian and Steve have been married for almost four years. They met, got married and continue to live in a care home. They met at a disco arranged by the care home and soon started to spend more and more time with each other.

Steve proposed to Sian with the help of staff at the care home. They helped him to prepare a romantic meal and he popped the question.

“We moved in just before we got married and we took the biggest gamble of our lives”– Steve

They got married at a local hotel with the support of staff and their families. Their story is unique because in addition to their disabilities they have to navigate married life in a care home. They are able to travel into Wrexham on occasion to spend time with each other.

They have experienced the rare situation of having a support worker go on a date with them.
