Rhiannon
Rhiannon was born in South Africa and moved to Wales several years ago. She has a learning disability but because it is a hidden disability people aren’t aware of her condition. This can be both positive and negative.
Rhiannon’s best friend still lives in South Africa. They communicate every day.
“Friendship to me means everything. It means someone you can phone up during the day, have a chat, have a natter, have a shoulder to cry on. Someone who knows you very well. Someone you can rely on. Someone you can trust and always be there for you.”
She often feels lonely and finds it difficult to make friends outside of the structured groups she is a member of. She longs for a child and on seeing families she wonders if that is something she will ever get to experience.
