Vincent Winstanley (1942-). Royal Army Medical Corp, Aberystwyth

Vincent Winstanley recalls his experiences of serving with the Royal Army Medical Corp, with accompanying photographs.

Born in Liverpool during WW2, Vincent Winstanley joined the British Army, Royal Medical Corp, in January 1961 aged 19yrs, serving as an Operating Theatre Technician (OTT) leaving the Army in 1982. He continued his career in the NHS being appointed as the manager of the first Theatre Sterile Supply Unit (TSSU) for the Westminster Group of Hospitals. Vince was appointed to other senior roles in the NHS before he retired in 2012. Vince moved to Llanfarian, Aberystwyth with his second wife Brenda, who comes from the area.
