Wonderbrass during Covid-19

Like so many organisations, COVID-19 put a stop to Wonderbrass rehearsing, performing, and spreading the wonder love from March 2020 onwards.

Determined to keep wonder-flame burning, memebers were busy behind-the-scenes, trying out new ways of rehearsing in isolation using digital content, working on new material, and the ‘At Home… Not Alone’ music video that is the first item in this story.

But without the gig income which sustains the band's regular rehearsals, activities were ad hoc and infrequent.

In autumn 2020, however, Wonderbrass made a successful application to the Arts Council of Wales’s Cultural Recovery Fund, enabling the show to go on virtually!

This funding allowed the band not only to keep the momentum going in preparation for a return to playing together again, but supported the development of new music and new digital resources to learn that music. These can be viewed on the band's website here: http://www.wonderbrass.org.uk/category/project/
But this story includes a screenshot of the page to give an idea of the resources developed.

This meant the band would be ready to hit the streets, pubs and events with their unique and polished sound once again as soon as live performances were safe and permitted (and we'll be adding to this story when this has happened, so watch this space...).
