Cesar Picton (c.1755-c.1836)

As a child, Cesar Picton was taken from Senegal, enslaved and given his new name. He worked as pageboy for John Philipps (d.1764) at Picton Castle. As a freed adult, he moved to Kingston upon Thames and became a wealthy house- and landowner.
