Construction of Romilly Park
Romilly Park is a landscaped garden which was developed on land belonging to the Romilly Family. It sits in the western part of the town.
Construction started in 1898 but it was not until 1911 that the park was completed. The park today retains much of its original design. Following the National Eisteddfod being held in 1920, a Gorsedd Circle was built which stands to this day.
To the south of the park is a railway embankment which covers some of the views out to sea.
Today, Romilly Park is a CADW Grade II listed site with sport and recreation facilities as well as floral displays.
