This is a collection of material which relates to Mr Lionel Madden of Aberystwyth, Ceredigion. Lionel was conscripted into the Royal Air Force in 1956. He completed 2 years of National Service as a Progress Clerk. He completed basic training at RAF Wilmslow and went on to train as a Progress Clerk at RAF Credenhill. He completed all of his operational service at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, where he was the Administrator in the Mechanical Transport Section. Visitors to this collection will be able to read a narrative account and watch an interview he gave to Age Cymru Dyfed in February 2026. This collection forms part of the Wales and National Service project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
