The television was on every evening during the interviewee's childhood, watched less as he got older.He watched the launch of S4C in JMB Hall in Bangor with other students, remembers some of them taking photographs of the opening screen.He remembers the personalities of the 1979 Campaign, had stayed up all night to watch the 97 result and remembers telephoning friends after the Carmarthen result.He says that it's the dramatic things that people remember, and these are the things the news concentrated on. In his community there was quite a bit of sympathy for the miners.
