The interviewee says that she did not know anyone who had a television when she was very young, when she saw one in a friend's house she was dismayed and thought it did not compare with the cinema. Many people came to know about Wales for the first time because of Aberfan and the Welsh felt like one nation. She saw the Coronation on Pathe News, remembers everyone was thrilled to see the clothes. Had not begun to think politically at that time. Remembers seeing the waters rise in Tryweryn and a glance of a few things on television, there was great opposition in her community. Decided not to watch the Investiture ceremony but someone wanted to see it on her colour television so she did see a bit. Remembers great tension, anything Welsh being encompassed with those objecting to the Investiture.Rugby united Wales, something from the south drawing attention of the Welsh people of the north. The launch of S4C was very important, she was worried that it would not be a success as so many watched the one channel and thought that they would not change their viewing habits. Those who objected to the channel got second (?) She remembers there was a presenter between programmes. She still watches Welsh language programmes mostly.
