Two brass goblets from Mesopotamia, where John James Davies of Llanrhystud served, c.1914-18

Description

John James Davies was a carpenter from Llanrhystud who fought with the South Wales Borderers in Mesopotamia during the First World War. These two goblets belonged to a set of six.

I came across this photograph by accident and realised that I had two very similar brass goblets from my Grandfather who was an RSM in the Cycle Corps. He was captured in Italy and taken as a POW to Cotbus Camp in East Germany. I will take a 'photo of my two goblets and post alongside a picture of my Grandfather. It's great to know they came from Mesopotamia.
