The Tredegar Salt, Tredegar House, Newport, 16th century
Description
Made in 1596, the silver salt was part of the original household silver and bears the Morgan family crest. It was one of the many items from the house that were sold over the years, but it was later discovered at auction, purchased and returned to the house in 1995.
