Cor Brynsiencyn 1955

Description

This is a photo of the choir from Brynsiencyn in Anglesey which won first prize for Rural choirs in the 1955 National Eisteddfod in 1955. The pieces were Atgof and Iesu Dyrchafedig. The other competitors were Newborough, Llithfaen, Llanuwchllyn and Cerrig y Drudion. The conductor was Miss Helen Jones seen holding the cup in the front of the photo. Note the old pavilion in the background, not pink! My mother and I are in the photo

My Uncle Willie Pritchard Jones is in this photograph, he was the Postmaster at Brynsiencyn for many years. I remember when the cup was won, I was on holiday in Brynsiencyn at the time. Great to see the photo.My Uncle is the 5th man on the left in the 3rd. Row.
