This desk was presented to my grandfather by Capel Newydd Llandeilo in recognition of his service as choirmaster. It once had a roll top which my father removed at some stage. The inscription reads "Anrheg i John Evans Ysw B.SC gan Eglwys Cynulleidfaol Capel Newydd Llandeilo fel arwydd o barch a rhwymedigaeth am ei gwasanaeth gwerth fawr fel arweinydd Caniadaeth Y Cysegr am anrhyw flynyddoedd. Mawrth 1920. 'Gorau arf, arf dysg' "
