Susan Bagnall and Mari Tomos were selected for the Under 16 Welsh team in Season 2001-2002, but 2002-2003 was a high point for Girls’ and Women’s rugby at the Club, as U16s and Women’s teams were formed, with Tim O’Shea, his daughter Emma and Ann Winning as officials and coaches. Seven girls from the U16s represented North Wales. Susan Bagnall and Faye Medley would also go on to play for the Wales U19s. In recognition of the above and his sterling work as Chair of the Mini Juniors, Tim was presented with the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ Award in 2003 by Denbighshire County Council.
