Description

According to the book “40 Years of Rugby”:

“In 1985, Andrew Lloyd, from Denbigh Green, who played flanker for the 1sts, was invited to design the Rhyl and District National Eisteddfod bardic chair, a great honour. Another Club Member was John Idris Owen, who had previously won the coveted National Eisteddfod Prose Medal (Y Fedal Ryddiaith). A third Member was Gareth Rowlands, a talented young baritone, who had been runner-up in the prestigious Blue Riband Competition. This led to Mr Les Phillips suggesting that this was probably the most cultured club in Wales!”
