School visit to Senior Friends to perform a concert
Description
Community House has always forged strong links with the locality of Maindee, Newport, especially involving the local primary schools in inter-generational projects. 'Senior Friends' was a club initially set up by Brian Selby's father Vic when Community House opened in 1969. Vic also worked for a bus company at the time and was able to hire buses to take members of the group on day trips which they enjoyed. Links to clubs involving the elderly take place today - Senior Friends is now called Tuesday Lunch Club, or TLC as it is better known.
