Dairy cows strip grazing, Pantyrhuad c. November 1953
Description
In early winter, when the grass had stopped growing, we fed the milkers on Kale, grown for the purpose. Two rows have been cut with a mower, and with an electric fence (moved each day) they could help themselves without trampling on it. They had an hour each morning, then be driven out, or some would learn to walk under the fence. I see they have now all been dehorned.
