Patchwork quilt featuring red basket design, 19th century [image 1 of 2]

Description

A patchwork quilt made of Welsh flannel (possibly mill or tailor's samples), in various coloured diamonds and squares. It features a red cherry basket design. The reverse side is made from a single sheet of cotton. It was probably made during the latter half of the nineteenth century.
The quilt measures 190 x 155 cms.
