The fox was one of the Hutchings family's favourite subjects. There are several examples arranged in the same way, with the fox on its haunches and with its head up.
Case: glazed sides, rounded corners and feet; good condition
Dimensions: height x width x depth: 88 x 89 x 33 cms
This type of fox prefers wooded countryside, often inhabiting mountainous areas. During the breeding season they dig 'earths' or burrows. They eat berries, insects, earthworms, snails, mice, rabbits, game birds and poultry. The fox's tail can grow as long as 1 foot 3 inches, which is almost half the length of its body.
