Children and staff of Llanwnog school, 1890s

Description

A formal group photograph of the children and teachers at Llanwnog school in the 1890s. Although many Victorian photographs of this type exist, almost all provide us with fascinating glimpses of a lost age. Common to most such pictures are the unsmiling faces, the hats, and even for the tiniest child, stout boots, which were often used for walking miles to school.
