An ironmongery store in Welshpool, 1900s

Description

A photograph of the ironmongery business of Thomas J. Evans in Welshpool. Contemporary advertisements for his business offered marble chimney pieces, bedsteads, bicycles, wringers, guns and ammunition, oils, seeds, agricultural implements, galvanised iron buildings, and every description of coachbuilders and blacksmiths ironmongery. Customers seeking spades were unlikely to go away unsatisfied, judging by this photograph.

The gentleman holding the cart is my paternal great grandfather, Albert Benyon of Welshpool. He married Edith Morris and had two children, Noel Benyon and Evelyn Benyon (later Evison)
