Brecon Church, 19th century

Description

This print shows the 900 year old church in Brecon which was once the centrepiece of a Benedictine priory, and became a parish church at the Dissolution. Long known as the Priory church of St John the Evangelist, or simply the Priory church, it was elevated to cathedral status in 1923. From a drawing by David Cox, engraved by W. Radclyffe.
