Description

A hand-coloured postcard view of a pioneering department store. This was the Central Wales Emporium in Llandrindod Wells, which sold a remarkably wide range of goods for such an early date, including food, furniture and clothing. There was also a café on the premises. An advertisement at the time claimed that 'In Fashion and Fancy, each item is so delightfully unique and of such exquisite beauty as to make a visit of inspection a source of real pleasure'.
