A hand-tinted postcard view of Cwm Elan house in its dramatic setting in the Elan Valley, captioned 'The poet Shelley's House'. The area became very popular as a destination for holidaymakers after the new reservoirs were completed in the early 1900s, and excursions to the Elan Valley were available from Llandrindod Wells and other spa towns in mid-Wales.
