Description

A postcard memento of the opening ceremony of the Birmingham City Council's ambitious scheme of dams and reservoirs in the Elan Valley. King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra inspected the works on 21st June, 1904 and were then invited to start the flow of clean water to Birmingham by turning an elaborately decorated ceremonial handwheel.
