Description

An early photograph of the heavily laden Llandrindod and Penybont coach, set to depart from the Rock House Hotel in Llandrindod Wells. Captain Cecil Otway established a regular coach service between Kington and Llandrindod in 1875, and revived a service between Aberystwyth and Presteigne in 1876. Such services could not long survive the rapid expansion of the railways.
