Old wooden bridge at Newbridge-on-Wye, c. 1900

Description

The wooden bridge which spanned the River Wye at Newbridge-on-Wye until the early 1900s. Although it seems to have used a lot of timber, the structure does not look particularly substantial from this viewpoint at least. Newbridge was clearly in need of a new bridge, which was provided in 1911.
