The old Market Hall at Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomeryshire pictured before 1890, when it was demolished. Buildings like this once stood at the centre of most country towns, and provided a covered market at street level and a large meeting room for town business on the upper floor. Their size and location meant that few survived the growth in traffic.
