Document issued by the Corporation of the Borough of Llanidloes on 1 April 1881, recording payment of the balance of the annual salary of Thomas Owen, for lighting the gas lamps in the town. For this service Mr Owen was paid nine pounds and ten shillings a year. The first street lighting by gas in Llanidloes had been installed in 1859.
