Description

The signal box at Elan Valley railway junction near Rhayader around 1900. The private Elan Valley Railway, built to carry materials for the construction of the dams in the 1890s, joined the Cambrian Railways main line at this point. The railwayman on the right is holding the token for entering the single line track system.
