Description

This newspaper clipping from The Jewish Chronicle reports on an exhibition at the Welsh Folk Museum, now the St Fagans National Museum of History. On display were 36 paintings, lithographs, and photographs depicting Welsh synagogues. Most of the pictures were the work of Olwen Hughes who was initially commissioned to paint a portrait of the then recently closed Cathedral Road Synagogue. Impressed by the work, the Cardiff Jewish Representative Council commissioned her to produce an artistic record of all the synagogues in Wales.
