The New Hall, Tredegar House, Newport, 17th century

Description

Designed as the main entrance hall to the 17th century house, The New Hall was also used as a dining room when large parties were being entertained. The ornate ceiling collapsed during the 1950s, but the original panelling and fire place remains, as does the painting above, depicting the Judgement of Solomon.
