Newcastle Emlyn people in the 1950s

Description

Maria Morley (nee Toth) 1899-1973, was a Hungarian refugee from Budapest who fled to Britain after WW2. She became a housekeeper to Jim Morley, an elderly widower, and they were married in 1948. They lived in Market Square, opposite the Cawdor Hall. Maria was an accomplished gardener; in addition to the garden behind her house, she tended an allotment near the Castle (now under the car park).
