A large photograph taken in March 1933 of the Cardiganshire Constabulary (Aberystwyth Division) Ju Jitsu Team.
Ju Jitsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an opponent in which one uses either a short weapon or none.
Many police forces taught martial arts. As a Police Cadet and young Constable in Glamorgan Constabulary, I received instruction in judo.
