Description
Original apparatus used in first long distance wireless telegraphy experiments by Marconi and postal telegraph engineers across the Bristol Channel between Lavernock (Glamorgan) and Weston-super-Mare, May 1897. Earlier that month, Marconi had successfully transmitted the first-ever wireless message over water from Lavernock to Flat Holm island.
