Description

South Wales Police Rugby Football Club was formed in June 1969 following the amalgamation of the Cardiff City, Glamorgan County, Merthyr Borough and Swansea Borough police forces. Based at Waterton Cross in Bridgend, the club fielded a formidable side becoming a member of the Welsh Rugby Union in 1971 and producing international players such as Bleddyn Bowen (23 caps, 1983-89), Richie Collins (28 caps, 1987-95) and Hugh Williams Jones (17 caps, 1989-95).
